The article gives the analysis of CAD systems represented on the Russian market in aspect of creating an information model of construction objects based on BIM technology. It describes the basic steps and interrelationships between the software essential for implementing BIM-technology and determines the main directions of Russian CAD systems development for implementing the concept of the road life cycle support.
