The article discusses the task of formalization of road information models (BIM) requirements at every lifecycle stage. To solve this task an approach based on the term Level of Development (LOD) is applying. To employ this approach it is necessary to build up the standard model elements list (dictionary, set) sufficient for road representation at every stage of life cycle. The author proposes this standard list of road information model elements and a formal definition of the levels of development of road information model. It allows to develop a detailed list of requirements for presentation form and elements completeness at all development levels and thus to formalize requirements for information models as for results of road activities stages.
