There is a large quantity of diagrams of multilevel traffic interchanges developed for different conditions and categories of crossing and adjoining roads. However, Russian and foreign engineering practice reflects only some of them in their classical form. The most common types are the full- and half-cloverleaf and trumpet interchanges. The rest of the variants either are not considered in the design phase or have no clearly formulated normative base allowing design engineer to compare alternative variants at the stage of a technical-economical comparison.
