Highways in historical vortexes

Speedways are about a hundred years. In short time these engineering constructions came rapidly in our life and today it is difficult to imagine that once the question of necessity these roads caused hot disputes in society. Who, when and where did begin to create roads, along which to be possible to cover hundreds kilometers in an hour by car? The answers on these questions can be lost in the deep of presidents and leaders propaganda. Memory about names and works of road engineers, knowledge of their fatalities and books may become lodestar of further highways networks development.
