CAD & GIS for roads. — 2015. — No.2(5)

Computer-aided design

This issue is devoted to the computer-aided design considered within a context of the trending paradigm of road information modeling. The BIM section discusses the difficulties of development of the Russian road information modeling technologies. The CAD section presents reviews of CAD systems: the conceptual road design systems, little known in Russia CAD systems for road design, and CAD systems for design of bridges and culverts. The GIS section provides a history of creation and development of the AIS ISSO-N system for engineering structure operation, and proposes a review of geoportals for roads from all around the world. A person of the issue is Boykov Vladimir Nikolaevich, professor of MADSTU (MADI), chairman of board of directors of Indor group, Inc. (Tomsk). In addition, the history of road markings from ancient America and Rome to the present day is presented.
